Vladimir Petrović was appointed main coach of national team of Serbia, in the place of Radomir Antić. Petrović (55-year-old), former player of Red Star Belgrade and Arsenal London, has as objective to qualify his national team to European Championships from 2012. The Serbian FA has confirmed that Vladimir Petrović, former FC Timisoara head coach, will replace Radomir Antić as the head coach of the national football team. "We unanimously took the decision to end the contract with Antić. We gave him another chance after the World Cup fiasco but we've reached a difficult situation and basically we had no other option", chairman Tomislav Karadzić stated. He added that Vladimir Petrocić's goal is to qualify Serbia for the Euro 2012 final tournament. Cosmin Contra was presented as the new coach of FC Timisoara, but Valentin Velcea will be the official coach, because he has Pro licence. "What Mr. Petrović started here must be continued and we decided that technical staff to be composed of Cosmin Contra, Vali Velcea, Iosif Rotariu and Marius Bratu. All the decision will be made by the new staff. Cosmin Contra will be the coach, he has A licence and will inscribe for PRO licence too. He also remains player", said chairman Gheorghe Chivorchian.
