On a very difficult pitch, the match was won by the more valuable team, more ambitious team and more helped team by the referee. First round was dominated by Timisoara. Mansour headed from 5 metres but near by the bar in 13 minute and had another opportunity in 18 minute, being blocked by the keeper in one to one position. Four minutes later the same Mansour scored, after he received a perfect cross from Bălace. After the break Iasi showed that can be dangerous too, after the powerful shot of Cernocz was rejected by keeper Marius Popa. Hagi retracted the team in own half after replaced Mansour, being satisfied with this result. With a little help from the referee he succeeded to keep it too. After two more opportunities of Iasi, Plesan fouled at the middle of the field, but the referee didn't showed him yellow card because he had one already and that would have meant to eliminate him... Even Timisoara stayed in defence, still had opportunities to score, especially on counter attacks.

Even CFR played with three strikers, the team of Dorinel Munteanu made another draw home. The hosts had first opportunity in 11 minute: Munteanu sent a pass of 40 metres to Tilinca, the topscorer from Intertoto crossed to Anca, but keeper Stancioiu blocked him in last moment. Otelul came at Bucuresti thinking not to receive too many goals. Because of that they started the match in defence, rejecting all the balls. But in 12 minute Gado crossed perfect for Daniel Stan who scored. In 35 minute Gado sent a ball in penalty area and Alexa fouled Tanase. The penalty kick was transformed by the same Daniel Stan. In second half Dinamo tried to repair the disaster, but defence of Otelul remained the same. After Barcauan had a huge opportunity to score in 60 minute, the visitors struck again: Semeghin crossed to Stan who, alone, executed keeper Cristi Munteanu for the third time. Dinamo played till the end without ideas, and for them the rest of the match was a real humiliation.

Rapid thought that will be like a preparation match the meeting with Vaslui, but they were wrong. The goal of Valentin Badea from 13 minute brought silence on Rapid stadium. Players of Rapid were shocked, especially because the team from last place were playing like Hamburg. Vaslui didn't retire in defence and for Rapid was difficult to get to Vaslui post. Rapid started the siege on the post of Vaslui, but the visitors still had opportunities to score. The goal of Badoi came in 75 minute, but in extra time Vaslui was close to score again. It was a very nice match, which was close to UEFA matches than Divizia A.

The joy of Vaslui after the draw with Rapid was short because of an accident which took place on Sunday night. The bus of the team was returning from Bucuresti, and at a curve, the bus skidded and overturned. Two of the members of Valui delegation have minor injuried and the players were just very scared. The accident was caused by the ice from the road and powerful wind. "We were wakenning in a ditch of 4 metres. It was terrible. Most of the players were sleeping in that moment. It's a miracle that nobody had a serious injury" - said Vali Badea. "I can't sleep in the bus. So, I saw everything and in the moment when the bus was overturned to the 4 metres ditch I thought that I will die. In that moment I thought that we will go out of the road, but we were falling in empty space" - said defender Ilie Baicu.

Steaua București lost the chance to become the leader of Divizia A, after Dinamo was humiliated with a day before by Otelul. Sorin Cartu showed again his quality of good tactician, putting his team in defence and not counting at all on attack. On a "murderer wind", Steaua had few opportunities to score, by Bostina. The biggest opportunity to score had the same Bostina, after the break, from free-kick. He shot powerful but keeper Guso rejected the ball which was going under the bar.
