After the two wins with Olimpia Balti, Dinamo continue European campaign in front of Croats from Hajduk Split. Dinamo started the match very well, needing three opportunities in first five minutes to open the score. Torje was fouled by Subasic and Andrei Cristea (6) turned the penalty kick into goal. Initially, the same Torje caused problems to Subasic with a shot from the box (3). However, the Croatians managed to balance the game and wasted two good opportunities through Sharbini, while Dinamo tried to score again on counter attack by the speed of Torje and Andrei Cristea. Dinamo increased the advantage in 40th minute after a mistake of goalkeeper Subasic, who dropped the ball shot by Adrian Cristea, the ball hit the bar and then reached to Garat, who pushed it into the empty net from 5 meters. The attacks of Hajduk decreased in intensity and Dinamo were close to score again, but goalkeeper Subasic intervened excellent in front of Liviu Ganea (59) and Adrian Cristea (63). Although Dinamo were dominating the game, the visitors managed to score through Tomasov, who dribbled Pulhac and shot beside Curca. Only 6 minutes lasted the joy of Hajduk, because after an action built by N'Doye and Catalin Munteanu, Djakaridja Kone managed to score with a strong shot from 16 meters, right under the cross bar of Subasic. The visitors were about to score again, but Strinic hit the bar, then Tomasov shot beside the post from 7 meters. With two minutes before the final, Dinamo wasted the last important opportunity, Strinic rejecting the ball from the post line after a corner executed by Catalin Munteanu, which caused stammering in the defense of Hajduk. Important victory for Dinamo, who can afford now the luxury of a defeat to the limit on a stadium which will be on fire next week, in Split.
Ioan Andone, coach of Dinamo: "I missed the atmosphere from "Dinamo" stadium. I think that we could solve qualification in first 15 minutes, when we had many goal opportunities. I am sorry that we conceded goal, although for the attack my team deserves congratulations. The difference was made by Adrian Cristea. The match from second leg will be totally different, but we will not go there to preserve this result, because we want to win in Split too. We aren't qualified yet, because Hajduk need only two goals".
Stanko Poklepovic, coach of Hajduk Split: "Dinamo didn't surprise me, because I had all the information, but we failed to achieve our objective. I am not pleased with our game, but anyway, qualification will be decided in Croatia. I will change the starting eleven and we will try to play more offensive in the return game. Dinamo scored three goals, we need only too, so it is possible to succeed that. Dinamo proved that are a good team, but we still believe in our chance. We were totally unprepared at the middle of the field and allowed Dinamo to do all they wanted. I am very sorry that we didn't have supporters at this match, but the rules are rules and must be respected. This was decided by UEFA". |
