In the 68th minute it took place the phase which decided the match. Being at 30 meters in front of his post, Wesley tried to shoot the ball, but it was deflected by a player from Lille and reached to Sow, who was in off-side position of several meters, behind the defense of FC Vaslui. Although it was a very clear phase, Norwegian assistant Wiken flagged nothing! Kuciak fouled the striker and he was eliminated and the French received penalty kick. Coach Juan Ramón López Caro said that final result from Lille is totally unfair: "I don't want to comment the refereeing, I prefer to analyze our game. My players worked hard and deserved to be rewarded. For me, the final result is not logical. There were two balanced games. Lille controlled the ball, but we controlled the game. We had opportunities to win the first game and now in second leg it would have been different. We didn't create important opportunities in France, but our opponents weren't better than us. Only the referees were, but this is a different story". |
