Dinamo have fought in Cluj for a place in the final from Iasi, but CFR showed why they are the specialists of Romanian Cup. CFR have qualified in the final after a spectacular game, scoring two goals being in numerical inferiority.
The first half was dominated territorially by hosts, who have abused by the balls sent to Traore. The first shot on post belonged to Gabriel Muresan (6), but the ball was caught by goalkeeper Cristian Munteanu. Dinamo responded through the shot of Molinero (7), after a mistake of the same Muresan. Panin (14) tried to surprise Munteanu with a shot from 25 meters, but the keeper of Dinamo managed to box the ball into corner.
The goalkeeper of Dinamo did his job again in 20th minute, when he rejected very hard the torpedo sent by Nicolae Dica. In the other box, Niculae headed dangerous, but the ball fell on the net above Nuno Claro's post. The hosts had a nice action in 30th minute, when the ball moved to Muresan-Culio-Deac, and the last shot beside the post with a few cm. Dinamo missed the biggest opportunity of first half through Moti (35), who failed to head the ball into the net from a few meters.
Right after the break, in 46th minute, CFR remained in numerical inferiority after Edimar fouled Djakaridja Kone very tough. The hosts reacted very well at this shock, because five minutes later they managed to open the score. Nicolae Dică received a good pass from Traore and defeated goalkeeper Munteanu with a shot from 15 meters. Dinamo started to attack in waves, but without effect on the scoreboard.
The goalkeeper of CFR was very lucky, because he missed the ball a few times, but he was saved by the lack of precision of Dinamo's attackers. In 60th minute, Andrei Cristea tried to obtain a penalty kick, but he received yellow card for simulation.
Coach Talnar risked everything in the last 20 minutes, sending Adrian Cristea on the field in the place of defender Molinero. His strategy paid off, because the new player helped Dinamo to level the score. He sent a strong shot from 20 meters, the ball hit the bar but then reached to the other Cristea, Andrei, who managed to push it into the net, although Nuno Claro was about to reject.
But CFR's players reacted very well, again. In 78th minute, Culio crossed perfect from left side, the ball reached to Traore, who managed to defeat Cristi Munteanu although he was "marked" by Moti. Dinamo were close to level the score for the second time, but Andrei Cristea (81) missed incredibly. The final was very tense. Nuno Claro managed to reject the header of Torje, then, in additional time he caught the strong shot of Claudiu Niculescu.
Andrea Mandorlini, coach of CFR Cluj: "My players have sacrificed a lot after we have remained in numerical inferiority. We have a strong team, who plays very well. We have risked to the final of the match and we won. We received the goal because of the goalkeeper, but to the final he saved the team twice. I am very happy that my team has improved its game from match to match".
Cornel Talnar, coach of Dinamo: "Unfortunately, we can't get rid of these dramatic and unfortunate finals of matches. However, I congratulate the team for today's game. I don't know what is happening, we had in last matches a lot of clear opportunities, but we couldn't finalize them. The morale of my players is down. Some of them were crying after the match, in the locker room, because they have realized that another important opportunity to play in Europa League has gone. I hope we will get rid of this 'black' period and the players will be recovered for the game against Gloria Bistrita. We play well, but we are destroyed from psychical point of view".
