FC Vaslui have qualified for the first time in the final of Romanian Cup, defeating the team of Viorel Moldovan with 4-1 on aggregate.
Marius Lacatus players started the match decided to score and to cancel the advantage of FC Brasov from first leg, when the team of Viorel Moldovan won with 1-0. However, FC Brasov managed to balance the game, but the goal opportunities missed in first part of the match. The hosts had more free kicks near the box, but executions of Sanmartean and Wesley weren't a threat for Coman's post. But in 28th minute, a new free kick from 25-30 meters was executed by Raul Costin this time, and the ball has stopped only into the net: 1-0. The visitors were surprised by this goal and two minutes later they received another one: Wesley headed a cross of Bulgarian Milanov, from left side, and the score became 2-0. FC Brasov returned in the game and a few minutes later Grigore, Zaharia and Roman missed good opportunities to defeat goalkeeper Kuciak. Right before the break, FC Vaslui received a penalty kick for a foul of Nuno Diogo against Gladstone, but Wesley shot into the left bar and the score at the break remained 2-0.
Second half brought from locker rooms a new FC Brasov, decided to return in the game. In 51st minute, the shot of Catalin Munteanu was blocked in last moment by Akakpo. But two minutes later, the hosts increased the advantage on the scoreboard: Lucian Sanmartean executed a free kick from left side and managed to trick goalkeeper Coman. In 56th minute, FC Brasov received a new hit, Abrudan being eliminated for a tough foul against Costly. Viorel Moldovan's players couldn't reduce the difference in numerical inferiority and in 73rd minute they received the fourth goal. Akakpo crossed from right side and Costly headed from six meters and set the final score.
FC Vaslui will meet CFR Cluj in the final of Romanian Cup, which will take place in Iasi, on 26 May.
